Responsibilities: As a Trainee IT Technician, I will maintain and develop the school’s IT resources for safe and effective use by pupils and staff, providing support and guidance in the appropriate use of IT. I will monitor and assist in managing our IT support service. My key tasks will include: Connecting, setting up, and checking PCs and peripherals for normal operation. Performing routine maintenance tasks, including installing software and resolving basic hardware issues. Maintaining common hardware found in schools and managing college-owned devices such as iPads. Updating information on the school’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and maintaining user accounts and permissions. Following health and safety procedures and conducting basic safety checks. Documenting support requests accurately and working collaboratively with the team and external suppliers to meet service level agreements. Engaging in personal development through relevant courses and staying updated on major IT developments.
