As a Legal Counsel, you will lead on all legal work relating to the charging of property assets. You will play a vital role in ensuring homes are legally ready to be used as security for loans or bond issues, directly supporting our ability to raise funding, invest in new homes, and achieve long-term strategic goals. Alongside this, youll support a wide range of legal matters, from acquisitions to compliance, ensuring legal services remain forward-looking and efficient.
Key Duties
* Lead all legal work related to property charging, including due diligence, title rectification, and arranging for panel law firms to prepare Certificates of Title.
* Provide legal advice on the chargeability of new acquisitions and variations to agreements affecting future developments.
* Collaborate with Treasury, Development, Governance, and Asset Teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring accurate legal records for property portfolio.
* Support, coach, and supervise paralegal and legal support staff, contributing to the teams professional development.

Essential Skills and Experience
* Qualified as a Solicitor (England and Wales), Barrister, or Fellow of ILEX (Legal Executive), holding a valid practising certificate or equivalent.
* Appropriate post-qualification experience managing a relevant caseload, including legal matters related to housing management, with strong drafting skills and legal acumen.
* Strong commercial awareness, with the flexibility to respond to changing business needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
