Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated individual to join our dedicated team at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, Coventry City Centre, and Rugby St Cross sites, as a Band 2 Assistant.
Shift pattern over a 7-day week (Sunday to Saturday).
Role Responsibilities
* Assist patients before, during, and after imaging examinations, coordinate inpatient movement with porters, clean scan rooms, and manage stock control.
* Support various staff groups including Consultants, Nurses, and Sonographers within the General Ultrasound Department.
* Work well in a team, use initiative, and enjoy working with people, with a genuine interest in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with patient preparation and care during radiographic examinations, ensuring effective communication to support patient confidence.
2. Check patient identification and documentation according to protocols.
3. Assist Radiologists, sonographers, registrars, and Nurses, maintaining patient welfare.
4. Support workflow and facility coordination within specialized areas.
5. Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to hygiene and infection control standards, and participate in equipment maintenance and QA programs.
6. Understand and apply Radiation Safety principles in compliance with regulations.
7. Participate in 'Out of Hours' rosters to support a 7-day service.
8. Facilitate communication with service users, staff, and external parties, adhering to Trust policies, including annual appraisals.
9. Handle sensitive situations involving patients with specific needs or barriers to comprehension.
10. Assist with the practical training of new staff.
11. Manage stock movement and linen handling according to infection control standards.
