Hayley 24/7 Engineering Services Ltd is dedicated to working with customers to maintain operations, increase efficiency, reduce costs and secure asset performance gains.
We provide customers with quality around‑the‑clock coverage for planned, predictive and reactive maintenance and repairs from our main workshop in Dudley.
Responsibilities
* Programming, setting and operating XYZ protack and Siemens lathes.
* Engaging in day‑to‑day workshop activities related to quality, H&S and environmental standards.
* Interpreting engineering data and documentation such as drawings, technical data and computer‑generated programmes.
* Setting up, adjusting, and editing equipment settings as applicable to the machine tool being used.
* Producing, proving and/or editing CNC programmes.
* Measuring and checking components during and after machining; making adjustments to equipment or programmes to meet specifications.
* Proactively finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for business improvement.
* Obtaining, checking and using appropriate documentation (e.g., job instructions, drawings, QC records).
Qualifications
* Ability to use mathematical techniques for machining and manufacturing processes (speeds, feeds, angles, material removal).
* Understanding of practical and theoretical uses of machines and their applications.
* Knowledge of structure, properties and characteristics of common materials used in machined components.
* Health & safety, environmental or quality training an advantage but not essential.
* Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative.
* Understanding of typical machining problems and how to resolve them.
* Proficiency in using measuring and testing equipment to check quality and accuracy.
* Can work under minimum supervision, taking responsibility for quality and accuracy of work.
