Maintenance Technician - Nuneaton

About the role:
To provide preventative, reactive, and continuous improvement (project) maintenance services on a shift basis, including inspection, diagnosis, repair, calibration, improvements, and upgrading of control and handling equipment. This position requires a multi-skilled candidate with strong electrical skills.
Key accountabilities:
* Respond to equipment failure calls, prioritising tasks to optimise resource use.
* Work mainly independently, seeking supervision when necessary.
* Communicate daily with the Shift Supervisor and/or Manager to ensure activities are aligned with operational needs.
* Maintain a safe and tidy working environment and workshop, ensuring high standards of housekeeping.
* Identify personal training needs and undertake relevant training to develop new skills.
* Coordinate with external contractors, oversee their tasks, and assess their competence.
* Comply with company health and safety rules and statutory regulations.
* Apply failure analysis or root cause analysis to equipment issues and implement follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
What we're looking for:
* Recognised maintenance qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above), apprenticeship, or equivalent maintenance experience.
* Experience with MHE equipment, electro-mechanical systems, and detection equipment.
* Electrical qualifications to work with 3-phase 400V circuits.
* Knowledge of maintenance risk activities, including safety assessments and audits.
* Understanding of legal compliance such as COSHH & PUWER.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Physical capability to climb, crawl, and perform manual handling tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, making decisions as needed.
* Flexible hours, including night shifts and overtime.
* Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC drawings and schematics.
* Demonstrate excellent health and safety behaviour.
