Senior Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure operational effectiveness of security solutions such as firewalls, EDR, WAF, cloud posture management, and more.
* Lead patch, vulnerability, and configuration management activities across all devices, applications, and cloud environments.
* Conduct user, privileged account, and onboarding/off‑boarding reviews to enforce least‑privilege principles.
* Maintain and optimise security infrastructure, including encryption keys, certificates, and third‑party vendor tools.
* Design, configure, and maintain secure VPN and Zero‑Trust network solutions and related firewall rule sets.
* Deploy, manage, and monitor Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) and associated endpoint controls.
* Integrate security into DevSecOps pipelines – SAST/DAST, IaC reviews, and vulnerability remediation.
* Collaborate with the SOC to monitor, investigate, triage, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
* Document and maintain accurate security control configurations and support compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS, and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks.
* Assist with internal security awareness initiatives and training programs.
* Serve as the UK liaison with third‑party security partners and oversee 24/7 SOC operations.
* Provide security consultancy during system upgrades, new deployments, and vendor evaluations.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proactive, can‑do attitude with the ability to deliver quickly and efficiently.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills.
* Experience in achieving organisational adherence to security best practices.
* Practical experience protecting remote laptop estates and SaaS cloud solutions.
* Experience with identity and access management solutions.
* Experience with device business automation and updates.
* Experience with security aspects of cloud web application hosting and defence measures such as WAF.
