We’re hiring an Associate Scientist to join a dynamic target discovery team focused on optimizing CHO cell lines for therapeutic molecule expression. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation mammalian expression systems and help drive innovation in immunotherapeutic manufacturing. About the Role In this hands-on lab-based role, you'll execute and improve target discovery pipelines to identify and validate genetic targets that enhance cell line productivity and critical quality attributes. Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you'll design and conduct small-scale cell culture experiments using high-throughput technologies and support the development of more efficient bioprocesses. Key Responsibilities Design, plan, and execute CHO cell culture experiments using automated, small-scale models. Perform molecular biology assays (e.g., flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA). Contribute to CRISPR/Cas9 knockout and ORF library screening projects. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure high standards of data integrity. Draft SOPs, training guides, and safety documentation. Mentor and train colleagues in laboratory techniques and best practices. Support lab maintenance and contribute to health and safety compliance. What We’re Looking For Degree in a relevant biological science field (BSc, MSc, or PhD). Strong hands-on experience with suspension cell cultures, ideally CHO cells. Proficiency in single-cell cloning, transfections, and molecular assays. Skilled in experimental planning, data analysis, and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Extras Experience with BD FACSAria Fusion, lentiviral systems, or high-throughput platforms like Beacon or Ambr15. Background in antibody production and overexpression library design.
