About the role
As a SEN & Primary Learning Support Assistant in this welcoming school, you’ll work across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. You will provide targeted support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs, both in mainstream classrooms and within designated ALN settings.
This is a varied and highly rewarding position where you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils feel confident, supported, and fully included in school life every day.
Your key responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ALN
Encourage pupil independence and support with personal care where required
Assist in managing behaviour using consistent, positive strategies tailored to ALN pupils
Help prepare learning resources and support classroom delivery
Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development
Promote an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment
Who we’re looking for
Someone with experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or care
A calm, patient, and flexible individual with a genuine passion for supporting ALN pupils
Knowledge of ALN or a strong interest in developing inclusive practice
Confidence in managing behaviour in a positive and nurturing way
A strong team player with good communication skills
A driving licence and access to transport is helpful but not essential
