Database Administrator – Halifax
I am recruiting on behalf of a stable and growing company for someone who would like the opportunity to become their first dedicated SQL Server DBA.
This is a hands-on position where you will take full responsibility for the Microsoft SQL Server environment supporting multiple business-critical systems.
Other responsibilities include:
* Oversee data transformations and imports, including new client onboarding
* Carry out direct production database updates with precision and strong risk awareness
* Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and implement tuning improvements
* Improve and evolve internal database tools and processes
* Champion data integrity, resilience, and security
* Identify opportunities to introduce automation and AI-driven efficiencies within the DBA function
We are looking for someone with:
* Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+)
* Confidence working in live production environments
* Proactive, detail-focused, and risk-aware
* Clear communicator able to work across technical and operational teams
