Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility situated in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides high standards of safety, comfort, and care for residents with various needs, offering residential, nursing, and dementia care. We embody the New Care vision by investing in the latest technology and offering engaging daily activities and gentle exercise to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We pride ourselves on our permanent staff team, with no agency staff for over four years, ensuring continuity of care and trusted relationships with residents. All staff are paid at least the national living wage.
We are seeking a kind, caring, and motivated Team Leader to join our team. You will support the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager in leading the care team and managing the home effectively 24/7 within available resources. Training will be provided for therapy services, and this will be an enhanced role within the home. The role is full-time, with an excellent hourly rate of £14.00. The position covers both days and nights at Guiseley Manor Care Centre, with shift times of 07:45-20:00 or 19:45-08:00, respectively, with alternate weekends. To apply, candidates must have a care certificate or NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care, with medication management and administration experience.
The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work both days and nights as part of their contract to support the home's operations.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Promote the highest standard of person-centred clinical care to residents.
2. Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the care team to ensure quality care delivery during shifts.
3. Act as a role model demonstrating person-centred care.
4. Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults under your care or contact.
5. Manage the delivery of residents' personalised care according to their plans during shifts.
6. Support professional standards within the home, assisting the Deputy and Home Manager.
7. Provide supervision, coaching, and assessment to Care Assistants.
8. Ensure effective assessment, planning, and evaluation of resident care through written care plans.
9. Maintain accurate records as required by the company and regulatory bodies.
10. Manage daily rotas and delegate workload, ensuring safe staffing levels.
11. Complete new admission files within the first week, with contributions from the named nurse, senior carer, and key worker.
12. Build relationships with external professionals.
13. Assist the home manager in conducting regular quality audits of care plans.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Medication management and administration experience.
* Experience working with older people.
* Care certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or above is essential.
* NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent, or achievement within the first 12 months.
* Ability to contribute to assessment, planning, and evaluation of care needs.
* Knowledge of the 6 principles of care underpinning residential/nursing care.
* Good communication skills, both oral and written.
* Self-motivated and confident.
