Job description
Key Responsibilities
1. Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and communal areas
2. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting floors and surfaces
3. Empty bins and dispose of waste in line with school procedures
4. Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels and toilet roll
5. Clean and sanitise touch points ( door handles, handrails)
6. Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
7. Follow health & safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures
8. Report any maintenance issues, damages or hazards to the site manager
9. Ensure all areas are left clean and ready for the school day
Person Specification
Essential:
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
12. Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
13. Physically able to carry out cleaning duties
14. Understanding of basic health and safety practices
Desirable:
15. Previous cleaning experience (especially in a school or similar setting)
16. Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
17. Awareness of safeguarding in an educational environment
