Position Overview
In this role you will provide high‑quality care and therapeutic support to patients and their families, working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team. You will be assigned to individual patients on a shift‑by‑shift basis and work across wards and departments within the Trust, under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals. All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s corporate induction before their start date.
Key Responsibilities
As an Enhanced Care Health Care Support Worker, you will support patients with behaviours that challenge by delivering one‑to‑one enhanced or cohorted care using a compassionate and therapeutic approach. Your role promotes dignity, safety and wellbeing at all times. This is a flexible position requiring a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays, with the option to work bank shifts for greater flexibility.
You will attend the Clinical Induction Programme for Healthcare Support Workers, a two‑week programme that includes two supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom teaching from 9 am to 5 pm.
Qualifications & Requirements
You must hold a nationally approved HEE Care Certificate obtained in a healthcare setting. This role is not eligible for sponsorship under UK visa and immigration legislation.
