Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Medical services business unit as an activities co-ordinator. The individual will have an interest in working with patients who present with often end stage functional disorders. The successful candidate will work seamlessly with the wider Multi-disciplinary team (MDT), including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Nursing staff to deliver tailored activities to enhance cognitive rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will be an excellent team worker and enjoy delivering high quality, therapeutic and efficient care for patients using a variety of approaches guided by the wider MDT.
Main duties of the job
1. To plan, organise and facilitate a comprehensive range of individualised, group and one to one activities for the inpatients on the ward.
2. To promote and encourage appropriate, individualised level of patient participation.
3. To facilitate patient activities that promote, social interaction, enhance self esteem and help to maintain or enhance functional ability.
4. To support the multi disciplinary team in the assessment of patients with functional disorders.
