Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer with over 200 stores nationwide. Founded in 1980, it recently transitioned to private ownership and has undergone a significant transformation, including record market share growth, a new website, and six new stores, with more planned. We offer over 1,100 wines, spirits, and beers, both online and in-store, supported by over 1,000 WSET-trained colleagues providing knowledgeable service.
The Role
As a Majestic Trainee Manager, you will undertake a 12-month development program to learn operational, service, and leadership standards, preparing you for a future Store Manager role. You will follow a structured training pathway with support from your Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and improving KPIs.
* Deliver exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and repeat business.
* Offer VIP concierge services, including product updates and tastings.
* Share your passion for products through tastings and storytelling.
* Develop your wine knowledge to support your WSET qualifications and sales confidence.
* Maintain the store's appearance and operational standards.
* Participate in all operational tasks, including deliveries, merchandising, and customer calls.
* Identify and implement improvements to store operations.
* Ensure compliance with policies, safety, and legal standards.
* Take ownership of your personal development.
* Lead by example and support junior team members, providing feedback to your Store Manager.
Knowledge & Skills Required
* Experience in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
* Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
* Strategic problem-solving skills under pressure.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.
* Positive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
* Adaptability and resilience.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Wine knowledge is beneficial; passion to learn more is essential for WSET levels 2 & 3.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

* Hours: 39 or 45 hours per week available
