Job Description:

Contract:Fixed-term until 31st August 2026, or sooner upon post-holder’s return

Working pattern: 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:00pm, term-time only plus 2 inset days

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people? Do you have experience supporting students with additional needs, helping them to succeed and transition into mainstream education? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Voyage Learning Campus is seeking a committed and resilient Transition and Engagement Worker to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is a vital role supporting students both within our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and those reintegrating into mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with emotional, behavioural, or learning needs.

• Facilitate smooth transitions for students moving back into mainstream schools, including in-class support and visits.

• Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to support student engagement.

• Support classroom activities, plan interventions, and contribute to behaviour and well-being strategies.

• Occasionally transport students to and from school activities or visits.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of 3 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.

• A calm, flexible, and professional approach.

• The ability to work independently across multiple school sites.

Why Voyage Learning Campus?

We are a welcoming, multi-site alternative provision school offering personalised support for students who need it most. Join a team that values collaboration, professional development, and the chance to make a real difference every day.

Safeguarding Statement

The Voyage Learning Campus is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and all appointments are subject to enhanced disclosure and barring service check and satisfactory references.
