Job Description
Join the Monitoring Data & Systems (MDS) team, which manages key environmental monitoring systems and datasets. In this multi‑disciplinary role you will support Water Quality systems and data, and may also contribute to other systems as needed. Your work will involve analysing and improving the data that underpins our environmental safeguarding efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
* Set up and manage user accounts
* Support users and resolve issues, particularly during the transition to the new My Environment application
* Update, improve and maintain datasets
* Respond to internal and external data requests
* Assist with system improvement and upgrade projects
Everyone on the team undertakes training and participates in incident‑response duties when required. Incident response is essential for supporting communities and protecting the environment. Further information is available in your candidate pack.

Qualifications and experience
* Experience working with large complex datasets
* Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems
* Motivated, organised, friendly, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a dispersed team environment
* Proactive problem‑solving mindset
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others, and provide outstanding customer service
* Desirable: experience with environmental monitoring data systems, PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, and R; working knowledge of water quality monitoring
Location
Work location is flexible, but a base at one of our offices across England is required. We offer hybrid home/office working, though some travel for meetings is expected.
