Youth Justice Team Officer
Are you a passionate Youth Justice Team Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for Youth Justice Team Officer for a service in Blackpool.
Pay Rate: £19.80 per hour
Information on the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5 hours per week working Monday -Friday for 3 months initially.
What you will be doing:
Assessment of young people who offend, including specialist assessments, e.g. Sexually harmful behaviour, Speech language and communication needs etc..
Managing bail and remand cases
Managing cases subject to the YOTs Multi-Agency Risk Management Procedure (high and very high risk) – child protection, MAPPA, child sexual exploitation (CSE) and sexually harmful behaviour cases.
Planning and sequencing of community and custodial sentences
Delivery of interventions to address offending behaviour and ‘keep safe’ work with young people at risk of CSE.
Enforcement of statutory court orders to maintain compliance
Writing Pre-Sentence and Referral Order Panel Reports based on assessments
Court Officer duties (including weekend and bank holidays on a rota basis)
Multi-Agency working to negotiate and co-ordinate information sharing and services provided by partner agencies.
Diversity awareness and anti-discrimination practice
Acting as Duty Officer
Transport of service users. A full driving licence and access to own transport is essential to meet the requirements of this role.
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:
A strong background in youth justice
Experience in providing advocacy, guidance, and emotional support to children appearing in court
Excellent communication skills, a trauma-informed approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with legal professionals and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Essential Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
One of: CQSW, Diploma / BA in Social Work; Diploma in Probation Studies; Foundation Degree in Youth Justice; NVQ 4 in Community Justice
