My client is seeking a commercially-minded and detail-oriented
Partnership Accountant
to join a established finance team within a leading law firm. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing the financial affairs of the firm's partners, including profit allocation, capital management, tax reporting, and strategic financial planning support.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment, where precision, confidentiality, and business acumen are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary point of contact for partners, responding promptly and discreetly to their financial enquiries.
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the UK and international offices.
* Prepare cash flow illustrations and handle administrative tasks associated with lateral partner hires and partner retirements.
* Provide support to the Global Head of Partnership Accounting and Financial Control, as well as senior partnership accounts managers, through detailed analysis and special projects.
* Address and resolve audit queries related to partnership finances, ensuring compliance and transparency.
* Reconciling partners' current accounts, tax provisions, and capital accounts, swiftly identifying and resolving any discrepancies, and coordinating with local finance teams to ensure timely and accurate postings.
* Summarising partner payment data to facilitate effective reviews and precise cash flow forecasting.
* Prepare journal entries for partners' accounts including current accounts, tax reserves, capital accounts, and drawings, covering monthly accruals, profit distribution at year-end, and adjustments to capital.
* Keep comprehensive records of partner profit share allocations throughout the year, working closely with business services to ensure all information is accurate and current.
* Manage the forecasting, calculation, and processing of partners' monthly drawings and distributions.
* Oversee the administration of partner capital accounts, liaising with lending institutions that provide partner capital loans.
* Compile annual partner statements—both actual and budgeted—including reconciling partner balances between the statements and the firm's accounting system.
About You:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post-qualification experience, ideally within a professional services or legal environment.
* Strong understanding of LLP structures, partner tax, and capital accounting.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Central London with hybrid working from home.
