Offer description

Do you have a background in aviation or travel and a genuine enthusiasm for the industry? Do you want to pass that knowledge and passion on to learners who are taking their first steps towards a career in one of the world's most exciting sectors? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Aviation and Travel Lecturers sit at the heart of the Business, Travel and IT team at Barnet and Southgate College. Based at our Barnet campus, you will work with learners aged 16 and above across a broad range of qualifications and levels, from Level 1 through to Level 6, helping them build the knowledge, skills and industry awareness they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

What makes this role distinctive is the genuine connection to industry. You will have the opportunity to work with external aviation partners and agencies as part of the role, keeping your own expertise current while bringing authentic, real-world experience directly into your teaching. You will also have the flexibility to work across aviation, travel and business areas, giving both you and your learners real breadth of experience.

You will be joining a high-performing, supportive team that consistently achieves some of the strongest attendance, achievement and success rates in the college. Both full time and part time roles are available. Please indicate your preference in your application.

* Employer engagement: Support employer engagement and enrichment activities that raise aspirations and create access to aviation and travel careers learners may not previously have considered.

* Team contribution: Play an active role in a collaborative, evolving department, working flexibly across aviation, travel and business areas as required and contributing to the team's continued strong performance.

* CPD and growth: Commit to your own professional development, working with employers and external agencies to keep your subject knowledge current and your teaching industry-relevant.
