Principal Structural Engineer

First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer known for delivering complex, high-hazard projects across sectors including Power, Life Sciences, Defence and Aviation.
You'll step into a senior leadership position on large-scale structural projects, overseeing multiple design teams and reporting into an Associate Director. You'll be instrumental in driving high-quality, technically robust design across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Leading structural design across projects while managing and supporting teams
Overseeing high-quality deliverables and providing technical direction
Managing programmes, budgets, change and supporting bids
Driving innovation, sustainability and safe delivery standards
Mentoring engineers and supporting team development
Requirements:
Chartered Engineer (CEng, IStructE) with a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent) and 8-12 years' UK consultancy experience
Proven leadership of structural teams and delivery across multiple work packages
Strong knowledge of UK design standards, codes and assurance processes
Broad technical background across building structures, foundations, analysis and specialist sectors
Proficient in structural analysis software, with experience reviewing complex models
Commercially aware, with experience in budgeting and change control within multidisciplinary teams
Good understanding of CDM, structural safety and UK regulations, with CSCS card, SC clearance eligibility and a full UK driving licence
