Umbrella is a new uniquely comprehensive partnership of local service providers including community pharmacists, general practitioners, third sector and other partners, NHS Trusts and Birmingham City Council Services.
Umbrella aims to meet the needs of a young, diverse population by delivering:
*Integrated sexual health services that combine contraception with testing and treatment for STIs
*Health promotion and prevention
*Services that address sexual coercion, exploitation, and violence
*Services in primary care: family doctors and pharmacy (Birmingham only)
*Services through third sector organisations
Are you a highly skilled integrated sexual health Nurse who is passionate about providing excellent clinical care to sexual and reproductive health patients.

Main duties of the job
The post holder carries the continuing responsibility for managing the team/ward/ department by
the appropriate deployment, delegation, co-ordination, and supervision of all grades of staff in
their charge.
The post holder is expected to work across all Umbrella sites to cover clinical shifts and to participate in training and development of junior staff, ensuring all staff work within the competencies as appropriate to their professional qualifications.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that standards of patient care and safety are
maintained within the resource available, always demonstrating positive role modelling in all
aspects of care management and delivery and always acting in a professional manner in
accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
The post holder will support the provision of an environment that is conducive to meeting the
learning and development needs of the permanent workforce and visiting learners.

* * Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
* * Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in (appropriate area of specialty or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and
* short courses to degree / masters level equivalent Level 6 /7
* Recognised mentorship course
Experience
Essential
* * Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience in Sexual and reproductive health (SRH).
* * Significant clinical experience at Band 6/equivalent within SRH environment.
* * Professional Portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
* * Experience with the supervision and education of staff/ learners.
* * Can demonstrate understanding /experience / in practice based supervision / assessment as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
* * Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting.
* * Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with the clinical service.
* * Evidence of effective multi-professional working.
* * Demonstration of a significant contribution to innovative practice or change management
* * Experience in learning from incidents /complaints and supporting changes in practice
* * Experience in interviewing and selection of staff
* * Awareness of current sexual health guidelines, practice standards, research and evidence based practice
* * Awareness of sexual health clinical networks, local, regional and national topics.
* * Knowledge of HR processes including Performance & Capability, sickness management and appraisal.
