Role Description This Sales and Marketing Specialist internship is a hybrid role based in Newport, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will support day-to-day sales activities, including assisting with social media content creation and management, client outreach, and following up on leads. They will help execute marketing campaigns, contribute to social media and email content, and assist with promotional events or tastings as needed. The role will involve learning about product ranges, participating in product training sessions, and supporting customer education initiatives. The intern will collaborate closely with the owner, attend internal meetings, and provide regular updates on progress and market feedback.
Qualifications
* Strong Communication and Customer Service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the owner and clients and colleagues.
* Foundational Sales skills, including an interest in lead generation, relationship building, and closing opportunities.
* Ability to assist and support the owner with regards to social media content creation and management.
* Interest in Hospitality, including premium wines and spirits, with a willingness to learn product knowledge and support customer tastings and events
* Good motivational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience with basic digital tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation software); familiarity with social media marketing platforms is a plus.
* Interest in the food and drink or consumer goods industry; prior related experience or coursework is an advantage.
* Ability to work in Newport on designated days and work independently from home when required.
