Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Worthing
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Position: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Worthing. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to students with additional needs, helping them thrive in a mainstream classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum and engage with learning
2. Assist in the delivery of individual learning plans and strategies tailored to each student’s needs
3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued
4. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and track student progress
5. Support students with both academic tasks and social/emotional development
6. Encourage and motivate students to build their confidence and independence
7. Help manage behaviour and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times

Experience, Training and Qualifications
17. GCSE’s or equivalent
18. Minimum 1 year working with children
19. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility
20. Hold Right to Work in the UK
21. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
22. Provide two professional child related references
