We are looking for a Team Member Cleaner at Dorothy Hyman Sports Centre Job Purpose: To maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all dry-side areas of the sports centre, including the gym, indoor cycling studio, and group fitness studios, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all customers and staff. Key Responsibilities Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean and sanitise all gym equipment, including machines, free weights, benches, and mats. Maintain cleanliness of studio cycling rooms, including bikes, floors, mirrors, and touchpoints. Clean and prepare fitness class studios before and after sessions. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, walls, and fixtures. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including reception-facing fitness spaces where applicable. Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with site procedures. Refill cleaning and hygiene supplies (e.g. sanitiser stations, wipes). Hygiene & Safety: Follow strict hygiene protocols, ensuring all high-touch areas are regularly disinfected. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in line with COSHH regulations. Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues, or damaged equipment. Ensure all cleaning is completed with minimal disruption to customers. Follow health and safety policies, including manual handling and infection control. Customer Experience: Maintain a professional and friendly approach when interacting with customers. Be proactive in ensuring fitness areas are clean, presentable, and ready for use at all times. Respond politely to customer requests or queries and escalate where necessary. Support the overall positive image and reputation of the sports centre. Operational Duties: Work to daily and weekly cleaning schedules. Complete cleaning checklists and records accurately. Support deep cleaning tasks during quieter periods or scheduled maintenance windows. Assist with setup and reset of studios where required.
