The Role
As Lead GCP Data Engineer, you will
* Act as the in‑house GCP expert, guiding design decisions and engineering standards.
* Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data products, from ingestion through to transformation and analytical layers.
* Build and maintain production‑grade pipelines across batch and streaming workloads.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, high‑quality datasets.
* Support the Azure‑to‑GCP migration, ensuring data sources are correctly transformed and integrated.
* Mentor engineers and help uplift best practice across the team.
* Operate within Agile ways of working, contributing to planning, ceremonies and continuous improvement.
Your Skills and Experience
You will need:
* Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer working on production‑grade pipelines.
* Deep hands‑on experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
* Strong capability in dbt or Dataform and familiarity with medallion architecture.
* Ability to design robust ingestion patterns across multiple data types.
* Experience with Terraform or similar IaC approaches.
* Clear communication skills and a value‑focused engineering mindset.
* Experience operating within Agile teams.

* Experience working in regulated environments.
