Scope of the Role:
As the Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will stabilise legacy code and shape future architecture across mechatronic devices. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer partners with electronics, mechanical and manufacturing to deliver reliable control in real products.
Own product firmware from concept to fielded release.
Own internal tool software for test rigs and manufacturing.
Define specifications, risk assessments and traceability.
Lead source control, build and documentation standards.
Manage external partners and upskill colleagues.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
Proven delivery in mechatronic products as Senior Embedded Software Engineer or Senior Firmware Engineer.
Real-time control with sensors, motors, peripherals and RTOS or bare metal; confident with lab equipment.
Regulated discipline with documentation, change control, hazard thinking and release quality.
Function ownership, clear trade-offs, strong communication to non software stakeholders.
Version control leadership, CI and release governance beyond daily Git usage.
Salary and Benefits:
£60,000£65,000 basic salary
Hybrid from Leeds head office, baseline two days onsite
