The role: The Management Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager, will join the financial reporting and control team for a care home management contract being operated by Care UK. The role will be based predominantly in Colchester (offsite visits may be required). Key Responsibilities: • Working closely with the executive team and operational management, to support the business in achieving and exceeding its strategic and financial objectives. • Influence performance and efficient cost control across the business. • Responsible for the preparation of reporting and monthly management accounts and supporting analysis to key stakeholders. • To provide financial support to key stakeholders, ensuring management information is understood. • To ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly. • Ensure a strong financial control environment. • To ensure completion of VAT and statutory returns in a timely and accurate manner. • To assist with the SOX testing of internal controls to ensure a robust control environment. • To be a key contact in the provision of audit support to external auditors. What Were Looking For: • ACCA / CIMA / ACA part-qualified • Previous experience of management accounts preparation including accrual calculations, balance sheet reconciliations and accounting adjustments to tight deadline • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand a task as well as perform it.
