Job Title & Location

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (No OOH) – Stockton-on-Tees

Practice Overview

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking for your next role in a genuinely friendly and supportive practice where work‑life balance really matters? My client have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and caring vet to join a growing team. With flexible hours to fit around your lifestyle, this could be the perfect time to make a change and join a practice that truly values its people.

Located in a charming and increasingly cosmopolitan village between Leeds and Newcastle on the edge of North Yorkshire, the practice combines the warmth of a close‑knit community with the standards of a modern, progressive practice. The team is made up of four receptionists, four qualified RVNs, a student nurse, and three vets – one part‑time – who together bring more than 60 years of combined experience in general practice.

In 2018, they underwent an extensive refurbishment, transforming the well‑established site into a modern and welcoming space. The practice now benefits from separate dog and cat wards, a spacious operating theatre, and multiple consultation rooms, allowing them to provide high‑quality care in a calm and efficient environment. Equipment includes a new dental suite, digital x‑ray facilities, and a modern ultrasound scanner, ensuring the team can deliver the very best standards of care for every patient.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join at a time of growth and development, in a superb setting where teamwork and clinical excellence go hand in hand. The role offers genuine flexibility, whether you are looking for full‑time hours (36 per week) or a part‑time arrangement that fits around your personal commitments. Their rota includes just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings and no out‑of‑hours, as they work with a dedicated OOH provider located very close to the practice. We are looking for a confident and compassionate vet who is comfortable with routine surgery and consultations and who enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets.

Benefits

* 6.6 weeks’ paid holiday including bank holidays
* £1,750 CPD allowance per year
* Full RCVS and VDS fees paid, along with two additional membership subscriptions
* Enhanced parental and family leave
* Discounted veterinary fees
* Company sick pay
