The Role
A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a Design Manager / Senior Design Manager to support the delivery of a major Ministry of Justice project in Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate the design process across all project stages.
* Lead multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.
* Ensure design information is delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
* Review design deliverables for quality, compliance, and buildability.
* Chair design coordination meetings and manage technical queries.
* Liaise with client, construction, commercial, and planning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
* Identify and mitigate design-related risks and support value engineering initiatives.
* Monitor design progress and report on key project milestones.
Requirements
* Experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager within a Tier 1 main contractor environment.
* Proven track record delivering large-scale construction projects.
* Strong understanding of design management, technical coordination, and project delivery.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to work within complex and highly regulated project environments.
Desirable
* Previous Ministry of Justice (MoJ) or Ministry of Defence (MoD) project experience.
* Experience delivering secure, custodial, defence, or public sector projects.
* BPSS and EL1 clearance, or eligibility to obtain clearance.
