The role: At Lush, we’re passionate about creating a welcoming, safe, and vibrant environment for both our customers and our staff. We’re now looking for a Retail Safety Host to join our team, providing a professional, approachable presence on the shop floor while upholding 5* customer service standards. By being an active, visible presence in-store, you will support the team, welcome and engage customers in our Scottish Flagship store, and step in with confidence and care when safety concerns arise.
Working hours: 32-40hrs Tuesday - Saturday

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Staff Safety
* Provide a visible and proactive presence on the shop floor to deter theft, anti-social behaviour, and other risks.
* Intervene with confidence and professionalism if a customer becomes aggressive, either at the till or elsewhere in the store.
* Safely and appropriately remove aggressive individuals from the shop floor.
* Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, ensuring the wellbeing of customers and staff.
* Support with any obvious shoplifting or robbery incidents in line with company policy.
Customer Service & Hosting
* Welcome and greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
* Be approachable and friendly, ensuring both staff and customers feel comfortable and supported.
* Learn about our products to confidently guide customers to what they’re looking for.
* Elevate customer experiences by combining safety awareness with 5* service.
Communication & Incident Management
* Record incidents accurately through clear and professional reporting.
* Liaise effectively with staff and management to highlight potential risks or concerns.
* Maintain Lush’s standards of cleanliness, presentation, and professionalism at all times.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in security or loss prevention is desirable, but not essential.
* A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence is required. Additional staff safety or loss prevention certificates are beneficial.
* Approved first aid training would be a bonus, but not essential.
* Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and confident under pressure.
* Ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
