What We’re Looking For
To provide support to customers in the Maritime industry globally in their efforts to make the right decisions to achieve profitable and sustainable results.
To work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, providing the expert specialist technical advice that customers expect from our Advisory team, combining innovative thinking with precise rigour.
The Role
* To perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed parameters that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements.
* To routinely assess and assure all engineering assets of the project, specifically relating to control and automation systems as per LR Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Ships (LR-RU-001) or equivalent, industry guidance such as EEMUA-191, IEC 61508 and good engineering practice.
* To produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format. Bring an innovative and enquiring mind to solve complex problems, especially where there’s no precedent.
* Contributing to engagement planning and ensuring that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan
* Gather data and research information from a range of sources to provide clear, well-written technical reports.
* Responsible for own work to an excellent standard and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
* Take personal responsibility for identifying and continually seeking improvements to service delivery.
* Develop client relationships through interactions with client personnel, possibility to participate in business development activities
* To assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure.
* To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
* Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
* To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
* To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate.
* To coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
* Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
What You Bring
* Minimum Engineering/Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
* Demonstrate understanding of Consulting service offerings and ability to communicate their value
* Experience in the use of structured problem-solving approaches / frameworks
* Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients and internal stakeholders
* Strong facilitation skills that are adaptable to different situations and communications styles
* Experience conducting analysis (desktop research, data analysis, reviewing documents, interviewing etc.) and synthesizing into digestible outputs (e.g. reports, presentations)
* Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
* Strong ability to manage clients’ needs in a confident, professional manner.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills and be able to review the work of others to ensure quality
* Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively
* Be flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other LR or client office locations
* Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
* Proficiency in English language with excellent writing skills.
