Fleet Manager
City of Kettering – Public Service Department – Full‑Time.
Salary up to $122,262 annually.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of operational budgets, periodic reports and participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies.
* Forecast fleet replacement schedules utilizing total cost of ownership.
* Coordinate the purchase of equipment and oversee the requisitioning of materials, equipment, and supplies.
* Assist with the selection and the direct or indirect supervision and evaluation of Vehicle Maintenance Division staff; ensure that appropriate safety training and equipment is provided to crews.
* Manage fleet management system (Faster) and establish appropriate replacement and preventative maintenance schedules.
* Assure compliance with Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR), Ohio EPA, and State and Local regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in purchase, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
Strong communication skills: the ability to communicate concisely and clearly with employees, contractors, representatives of other departments and the general public.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in the performance of daily work, and principles, techniques and safety practices used in vehicle maintenance operations.
Familiarity with Federal and State transportation regulations.
Ability to read and interpret vehicle and equipment specifications.
