About The Role:
Joining as an Assistant Manager, you will be providing advisory and compliance services to a portfolio of clients, operating across various industries whilst supporting the growing practice with people management.
About The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in Accounts and will be responsible for providing expert advice to our diverse portfolio of clients and have the opportunity to strengthen this department.You will have exposure to other services offered by the firm and long term progression throughout the team. Your responsibilities will include supporting with managing a growing team of over 20 staff as well as:
* Effectively manage a practice client portfolio including staff planning, management of WIP and billing
* Building and further developing client relationships with both existing and new
* Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under FRS102 and FRS105, bookkeeping, and VAT returns
* Working closely with other departments including the tax and payroll teams
* Preparing quotes and presenting to potential clients
* Implementing efficiencies in accounts processes
* Developing team members to ensure the team receive appropriate training
* Displaying a strong commercial awareness in fee development.
* Displaying pro-active awareness of current relevant legislation, compliance standards and be able to provide accounts technical advice to clients and the team
* Raising high quality business correspondence.
* Acting as the main point of contact for compliance queries from clients within portfolio.
* Quoting and estimating fees within your level of authority.
* Meeting clients to pitch and tender for new work and putting together associated documents.
* Business development – attending new client meetings and networking events.
* Effectively delegating work to, and mentoring, the team.
* Providing feedback to junior and senior team members about the quality of work and performance
* Supporting team members on a training program, you will have oversight and conversations with study providers and support with the administration of exam schedules/team diary
About the Applicant:
You will have:
* ACCA/ACA qualification with post qualification experience
* Previous client and team management experience
* Accounts and Corporation Tax compliance experience
* Small to medium size firm background
* Initiative and can take responsibility for your own work with strong time management skills
* Ambitions to further develop the department
* Enjoys and sees the benefit of developing others, patient whilst training others
* Capable of building strong relationships internally and externally
* Adaptable and keeps on top of new technology advancing the industry
* Innovative and willing to challenge the status quo
* Possesses strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
* Effective communication skills, confident and articulate
