Job Title: Ductwork Project Manager Location: Hitchin Job Type: Full-time Reports To: Operations Director / Senior Project Manager / General Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Ductwork Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of ductwork installation projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly sheet metal ductwork, and a proven ability to manage teams, budgets, timelines, and subcontractors effectively. The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 7 qualification and a Gold CSCS card, showcasing their high level of expertise and commitment to industry standards. Key Responsibilities: · Manage all aspects of ductwork installation projects, from pre-construction through to handover. · Liaise with clients, consultants, general contractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met. · Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify scope and ensure compliance. · Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, procurement lists, labour requirements, and milestones. · Lead coordination with estimating, engineering, fabrication, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution. · Oversee material orders, delivery schedules, and inventory to meet project demands. · Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality and safety standards are upheld. · Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with project expectations and timelines. · Track project costs, variations, and change orders to ensure budget adherence. · Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and financials. · Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and site protocols. · Support project close-out, including commissioning, testing, and client handover documentation. Required Qualifications: · Proven experience (3 years) as a Project Manager in ductwork or HVAC-related projects. · Solid understanding of ductwork systems, SMACNA standards, and HVAC coordination. · Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications. · NVQ Level 7 qualification in Project Management or a related discipline. · Gold CSCS card holder (or equivalent, demonstrating competence and senior-level skills). · Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, etc.). · Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. · Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. · Knowledge of H&S regulations, RAMS preparation, and site supervision. Preferred Qualifications: · Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. · CSCS/SMSTS/SSSTS certification (UK-specific). · Familiarity with ductwork estimating software (e.g., Ensign, FastDUCT) is a plus. · Experience in commercial, healthcare, data centre, or industrial sectors is desirable.
