Offer description

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join our dynamic physiotherapy team in Caithness. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied and rewarding caseload while contributing to the development of physiotherapy services within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. The post has a broad clinical remit, supporting patients from acute to chronic, frailty, neurological, respiratory, mobility/functional and orthopaedic/musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. The successful candidate will provide a whole-person approach to physiotherapy, working across all four pillars of practice.

The role covers a varied caseload including physiotherapy community work (domiciliary visits, outpatient care, groups such as Pulmonary Rehab) and hospital in-reach inpatient physiotherapy within Caithness acute and rural hospitals, such as acute admissions, rehab wards, and A&E. The post holder will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assist with early assessment, rehabilitation, admission avoidance, safe timely discharge planning, community rehabilitation, supporting individuals at home to maximise independence and reducing unnecessary hospital stays. The successful candidate might assist with other physiotherapy specialties, such as MSK, depending on service requirements; however, this will not be their main responsibility.

As an autonomous clinician, you will manage and prioritise a diverse caseload while actively contributing to the ongoing development and quality improvement of the physiotherapy service. You will be responsible for identifying your own learning and professional development needs, with supervision and guidance provided by peers, senior colleagues, managers or team leads, as well as physiotherapy professional leadership. Additionally, you will be expected to facilitate, supervise, and plan the training and development of team members, including students and physiotherapy staff at bands 3, 4, and 5. This role offers a diverse clinical caseload and the opportunity to work as part of a supportive physiotherapy team delivering high-quality patient-centred care across Caithness.
