The pupils, staff and governing body of Longton Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and highly motivated Early Years teacher to join our team as Early Years Leader. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to lead and develop high-quality provision across our Early Years Foundation Stage, working within our Reception class and supporting the continued development of our recently opened Nursery.

With the recent expansion of our Early Years provision to include a Nursery, this role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, well-planned and progressive EYFS curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and leading Early Years practice across both Reception and Nursery, ensuring consistency, high expectations and the best possible outcomes for all children.

Responsibilities

* Make effective use of teaching assistants to support learning, independence and positive outcomes.
* Promote strong partnerships with parents and carers to support childrens learning and development.
* Be committed to professional development, engaging in CPD, coaching and collaborative working.
* Be committed to ensuring their attendance at all PTFA events throughout the year.

Qualifications and Experience

* Have a minimum of three years successful teaching experience within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a secure understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
* Lead the Reception class while working collaboratively with Nursery staff to plan and deliver a cohesive and progressive Early Years curriculum.
* Provide evidence of consistently strong teaching that inspires, challenges and supports all children to achieve their best.
* Be a positive role model who creates a nurturing, engaging and language-rich learning environment.
* Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to drive high standards across Early Years provision.
* Use assessment effectively to inform planning, monitor progress and identify next steps in learning.
* Work creatively to provide high-quality learning experiences, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


Essential Experience

At least three years experience teaching in Early Years.
