The HSE Manager is a site based role, providing HSE support, guidance and driving positive safety culture. Working closely to support the site HSE Manager and Regional HSE Manager with the implementation of the company strategy, improvements to the company Safety Management System and processes.
In addition to this, the HSE Manager is working closely with the Client HSE team to ensure high standards and compliance with health, safety and environmental standards are implemented and maintained.
Main TResponsibilities
Promote and improve safety performance to create a strong HSE culture within the company by:
- Participate in the development project / site HSE plans
- Working in conjunction with Operational Management and the site HSE Manager
- Managing and developing stakeholder relationships with regards to HSE matters
- Disseminating experience and knowledge to the site team
- Providing competent health and safety guidance
- Conducting frequent site monitoring and auditing to ensure legal compliance
- Working with site team members and ensuring audit of the customer site is executed effectively and that any actions arising are followed up and closed out in a timely manner
- Being an active visible member of the team spending time on site engaging and interacting with site personnel and Client representatives
- Working with Operational Management to enable them to take ownership and deliver HSE 'through the line'
- Actively engaging with and advising site Supervision on incident investigation and leading the process through to satisfactory completion, closing the loop
- Driving safety culture, providing onsite informal coaching, safety interventions, toolbox talks and training and increasing hazards reported onsite
- Providing feedback to the workforce for all hazards identified onsite
- Engaging with and developing relationships with Client HSE personnel and other contractors
Work in conjunction with the Site HSE Manager to:
- Provide support and deliver against Company targets and objectives
- Maintaining site KPIs and safety control loop scores
- Promote the use of the company HSE Management System and identify any shortfalls or areas of improvement to the HSE Manager
- Promote and support the Company Behavioural Safety Programme 'Safety Works'
- Report on concerns of non:compliance or potential non:adherence to legislation
Identify and monitor issues, create new ideas and identify areas to drive improvements to:
- Products and services
- Health, safety and environmental performance
ROUTINE DUTIES
- Provide support to Operations to ensure all hazards associated with the site activities are identified and that risks to health, safety and the environment are assessed and that suitable control measures are implemented
- Ensure the BMS system is available to the working party and all policies and procedures are adhered to
- Reviewing, amending and updating relevant safety documentation
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded within the
