M&T Hotel Management are now recruiting for a General Manager for the Hampton by Hilton Torquay.
Opened in 2022, this exciting hotel in the centre of the regenerated area of Torwood Street, just a stones throw from Torquay harbour. The hotel is part of a mixed-use development including office and food and drink units, acting as a hub for business and leisure guests. The hotel boasts over 130 bedrooms, fitness centre, meeting and event space and spacious restaurant and bar facilities.
The General Manager leads the team from the front, managing overall hotel targets, delivering excellent guest experience and maintaining profitability.
Specifically, the General Manager is expected to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Manage ongoing profitability, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met
* Lead with integrity, nurturing and developing a happy, engaged, high performing team
* Lead in all key property issues including capital projects and customer service
* Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hoteland the owners
* Develop achievable hotel budgets and set other short- and long- term strategic goals for the property
* Lead in all aspects of business planning
* Comply with Brand Service Standards
* Ensure costs are controlled and revenue opportunities are effectively sourced and delivered
* Hold regular briefings and communication meetings
* Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved
To successfully fill this role, the following experience, skills, and qualities are required:
* Experience as Hotel General Manager within a quality, focus service branded hotel
* Stable work history and clear career progression
* Degree or diploma in Hotel Management (or equivalent industry experience)
* Strong commercial and financial acumen
* Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results
* Excellent leadership and team building/ management skills
* Exceptional communication skills
* Reside (or be willing to relocate) to within a reasonable commute of Torquay
* Knowledge of the local area (desirable)
This role is definitely not 9 to 5, a flexible approach to working hours alongside the hotel team is to be expected. This to include weekend and evening working.
