As one of the largest providers of substance misuse services in England and Wales, we are excited to invite a talented Chartered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will: Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists. Utilize your expertise to enhance innovative approaches developed within other Turning Point MHTR services. Collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist to ensure high-quality service delivery. Manage the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues. Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues and local agencies. Inspire and develop your team, focusing on psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach. Maintain a small caseload of service users with complex needs, providing specialist psychological assessments and therapies. Influence the strategic direction and development of the service, building strong professional links with other providers. Explore ways to integrate wider issues such as housing, employment, and finances into the treatment process. Collaborate with our national team to develop psychological and psycho-social approaches across services. What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess: Up-to-date registration with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist. A doctorate in your professional specialism and proven experience in delivering psychological services. Experience in leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally with a background in substance misuse. Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to the Recovery Agenda.
