Graphic Designer Mid-Weight Graphic Designer (with Illustration Skills) Salary: £40k per annum 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Full Time | Hybrid or On-Site Location: Theale, Reading Start Date: ASAP Reporting to: Head of Communications We’re The Old Station Nursery, a leading children’s nursery group with 78 nurseries across the UK - and we’re about to begin an exciting new chapter. Our new brand identity has been created and we’re now looking for a talented Mid-Weight Graphic Designer to help bring it to life across all touchpoints of our business. This is a 12-month fixed-term role that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful creative impact across a much-loved organisation in the early years education sector. About the Role As our in-house Graphic Designer, you’ll play a key role in rolling out our new brand identity across all 78 nurseries and central support materials. From signage, brochures, and uniforms to marketing campaigns and digital templates, you’ll ensure the new brand is consistently and beautifully applied. You’ll also use your illustration skills to develop and adapt the brand’s illustrated assets - ensuring our playful, child-friendly visual style feels warm, engaging, and consistent across all applications. This is a hands-on, creative role for someone who thrives working with detailed, process-driven projects within a clear and collaborative framework. What You’ll Do Roll out our new brand identity across print and digital materials for all nursery locations, and all central internal and external assets. Create artwork for a large range of assets - from brochures and banners to signage, uniforms, and digital templates. Adapt and develop illustrated assets in line with brand guidelines. Ensure consistency and quality across all visual touchpoints. Manage print and production with external suppliers, including proofing, flight checking, and overseeing all stages of print projects. Collaborate with our Marketing, Operations, and external partners to meet brand and business needs. Manage files, templates, and brand resources for efficient team use. About You 3-5 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer (agency or in-house). Proven experience in brand rollout or multi-site brand application. Confident in illustration - freehand, digital drawing, and adapting existing illustrated styles. Strong technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop). Extensive experience managing print and production with external suppliers, including proofing, flight checking, and overseeing all stages of print projects to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency. Experience in short video content production would be highly advantageous. Exceptional attention to detail and organisation. A strong portfolio demonstrating both design and illustration work.
