We are seeking a Deputy Head of Year to join a fantastic mainstream secondary school in Lincolnshire. This role focuses on pastoral student support, working closely with students to ensure their well-being, academic progress, and personal development.
Responsibilites:
1. Support the Head of Year in managing student welfare, behavior, and engagement.Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their emotional and social well-being.
2. Act as a key point of contact for students, parents, and staff, offering guidance and intervention where needed.
3. Work with external agencies to provide additional student support when necessary.
4. Promote a positive school environment, reinforcing school values and expectations.
5. Assist with attendance monitoring and implementing strategies to improve student attendance.
6. Support the planning and execution of school events, interventions, and enrichment activities.
Requirements:
7. Previous experience in a pastoral, student support, or mentoring role within a school setting.
8. Strong ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
9. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices in student welfare.
10. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
