We’re working with a well-established organisation looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong end-user support experience to join a collaborative IT function, supporting a modern Microsoft-based environment.
The Role
You’ll be the first point of contact for IT support, helping resolve user issues, maintaining systems, and ensuring colleagues can work efficiently day-to-day.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies while working closely with infrastructure and cloud teams
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1st line support for users, managing incidents and service requests
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating where necessary
* Support laptop and mobile deployments using Microsoft Intune
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access
* Support Microsoft 365 tools including Teams and SharePoint
* Assist with system upgrades, patching, and maintenance
* Monitor systems and help identify potential issues
* Support backups, restores, and basic security processes
* Work with third-party suppliers when required
* Create and maintain documentation and user guides
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Experience in a 1st line / end-user support role
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365
* Experience with:
* Windows 11
* Microsoft Intune
* Entra ID / Active Directory
* Basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
* Experience installing and configuring software
* Strong communication skills and a user-focused approach
Desirable:
* Exposure to Power BI or Fabric
* AWS knowledge
* macOS experience
