Hours: 10-hour days (11 Days On / 3 Days Off)
Pay Rate: £100 per hour (£1,000 per day)
Reason for Vacancy: Project delivery requirements on major transmission scheme
The Role:
We are currently recruiting an experienced 400kV Commissioning Engineer to support works on a major transmission project at Beauly Substation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile 400kV site within a live substation environment, contributing to critical UK grid infrastructure through to mid-2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and carrying out commissioning of primary and secondary plant at 400kV
Functional testing of protection and control schemes
Reviewing, completing and signing off commissioning documentation
Ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and site safety rules
Coordinating with SAPs, Project Engineers and client representatives
Supporting energisation and fault-finding activities
Working safely within a live transmission environmentEssential Requirements:
Extensive experience commissioning at 400kV level
Strong background within UK transmission projects
Solid understanding of UK T&D commissioning procedures
SSEN CAT3 authorisation (absolutely essential)
Proven experience working in live substationsWhat's on Offer:

Structured 11 on / 3 off rotation
