Role Description
This is a contract role for a Consultant Ecologist based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, home based with field work in the north east. The Consultant Ecologist will undertake fieldwork, conduct wildlife surveys, and deliver Ecological Impact Assessments. Responsibilities will also include preparing ecological reports, contributing to project designs, and advising on environmental and conservation management best practices. The role involves collaborating with project teams and engaging with stakeholders to meet project goals.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in fieldwork, wildlife surveys, and botany to assess and document ecological conditions
* Experience in Report Writing and preparing Ecological Impact Assessments
* Strong understanding of biodiversity conservation and environmental regulations
* Effective communication, organization, and teamwork skills
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
* Relevant qualifications such as protected species licenses or membership of ecological professional bodies (e.g., CIEEM) are advantageous
Salary: £29,000-£33,000 depending on experience level
