A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Development Engineer within our Test & Validation department, you will support the Core Development and Engineering function based in Lincoln, contributing to our Industrial Turbomachinery business. You will play a key role in delivering scientific and engineering solutions that enable the validation of both current and evolving gas turbine products.
Your day will involve working alongside experienced engineers on development and production test programmes, supporting engine and rig builds, and contributing to innovative measurement and testing solutions in a highly collaborative environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Support the planning and execution of research and development rig and engine test programmes, ensuring delivery on time and to the required standards.
2. Assist in the planning, build, and installation of engines and test rigs for validation activities.
3. Support the development and implementation of measurement and testing technologies.
4. Contribute to material preparation and participate in Product Development Process (PDP) reviews where required.
5. Produce and present technical reports to communicate findings and progress.
6. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support testing activities.
7. Work as part of a team to deliver defined scopes of work in line with departmental standards and expectations.
8. Maintain high standards of safety, organisation, and compliance with EHS requirements.
What You Bring
9. Degree in engineering or a related discipline, with exposure to gas turbine build and testing activities.
10. A Master’s degree or relevant industry experience would be advantageous.
11. Background in heat transfer, measurement, or testing is beneficial.
12. Knowledge or exposure to gas turbine systems and related engineering disciplines is desirable.
13. Willingness to work towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technical judgement.
15. Experience or interest in project-based work within an engineering environment.
16. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
17. Proactive, adaptable, and open-minded approach to learning and development
18. Good IT and digital competency.
