This full-time, temporary maternity cover role is available from January 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate) and is initially until July, with a strong possibility of extension into September. About the Role
You will take full class responsibility for a Year 3 class of 30 pupils. The children are enthusiastic, engaged, and eager to learn, with a range of abilities and some pupils requiring additional support. The class benefits from well-established routines, clear expectations, and access to experienced colleagues and leadership support.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Differentiating effectively to meet the needs of all learners
• Working closely with teaching assistants and year group colleagues
• Monitoring progress, contributing to assessments, and supporting pupil development
• Creating a positive, well-managed classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3
• Be confident managing a mixed-ability class
• Use positive behaviour strategies and strong classroom management
• Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to pupil progress
