We are recruiting for a Floating Receptionist to join us on a part-time basis.

You will support our Hertfordshire Family Centre Service, which includes the Public Health Nursing Service (Health Visitors and School Nurses) and the Family Support Service. Our goal is to support children and families to have the best start in life, develop well, and thrive. We provide families with children up to 5 years old with a range of services, information, and support related to family life.
The Role
* As a Floating Receptionist/Administrator, you will undertake front-of-house responsibilities, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and professional service at all times, maintaining discretion and confidentiality, while supporting administrative tasks.
* Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering calls, managing schedules, handling administrative duties, and ensuring smooth office operations.
* You should have strong organisational skills, be able to adapt to new information and processes, and have good communication skills, including verbal, written, and telephone manners.
* You will develop an understanding of the Service’s full offerings to appropriately signpost and support families.
* You will provide additional administrative support as needed, including data entry and record keeping.
* You will support the wider Family Centre Hub and locality team and organize events as required.
* You will assist with composing letters, managing incoming and outgoing post, diary management, and processing purchase orders.
* Working hours are flexible between 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Minimum Requirements
* Level 2 Qualification in a relevant field (Customer Service or Administration) is desirable.
* The role may require flexibility to work across different locations; a valid UK driving licence and access to a car during working hours are necessary, along with willingness to travel and insurance that covers business driving.
* Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

This is a part-time role, with 20 hours per week. Working pattern: Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 18:00 (summer hours) / 12:30 - 16:30 (winter hours).
