Home–School Liaison Officer
The Home–School Liaison Officer plays an essential role in promoting consistent attendance and addressing issues of non-attendance. Working in partnership with students, parents/guardians, staff, and external agencies, you will support improved attendance and contribute to students' overall well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Inclusion Lead, Pupil Premium Lead, Heads of House, and Attendance Welfare Officer to assist students and families experiencing challenges that impact education.
* Act as a key link between students, parents, school staff, and outside service providers.
* Provide tailored support to vulnerable students—especially those with persistent absence—and advocate on their behalf.
* Address and help remove barriers that prevent students from attending regularly.
* Promote and champion positive attendance and student well-being across the school community.
* Develop and deliver, or help implement, intervention programmes for individuals or groups to support families and students struggling with attendance.
* Liaise with external agencies to access support and guidance for students and their families.
* Assist students in overcoming obstacles to their learning, ensuring they can make the most of the opportunities available to them.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date digital records of referrals and involvement with external services.
* Provide administrative support for the delivery of student support services.
* Offer targeted assistance in line with school improvement priorities for students whose progress or achievement is being affected.
