Job Title: Finance Business Partner
At Gregory Distribution, as a result of continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Finance Business Partner. Based at our Cullompton depot, this role involves working as part of the wider finance team, reporting to the Group Finance Director, while supporting the assigned Board member and their senior management team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop within the business.
This role requires travelling to other sites within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review weekly P&L flash/forecast results and monthly management accounts to understand business performance and drive profitability.
* Coordinate the production of detailed annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, working with operational managers, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting presentations to the Board.
* Produce timely and accurate financial reports and business cases to support decision-making.
* Liaise with operational management and present financials at monthly meetings.
* Develop the business partnering role to become an integral part of the respective Board member’s management team.
* Challenge operational management on revenue and costs to maximize profit and margin, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders, offering professional judgment.
* Refine finance and other business processes to improve efficiency.
* Promote best practice financial control and governance.
* Assist with commercial tenders and appraise capital projects for financial viability and ROI.
* Line management of the Finance Analyst.
* Commercialize new business solutions to maximize financial benefits.
Essential Skills:
* Professionally qualified accountant.
* Experience in a commercially focused finance environment.
* Experience interacting with senior management and directors.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to build relationships.
* Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in IT, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in the distribution and logistics industry.
* Experience using finance/ERP systems.
