Centre Manager, Full-Time
Location: Active Hampton, TW12 3YH, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Salary (SO2): £37,602 to £45,564 per annum. Employment type: Full-time (36 hours per week).
Overview
As Centre Manager you will be responsible for managing the Boroughs Active Hampton Sport & Fitness Centre, working with internal and external partners to improve facilities, develop services, and schedule comprehensive programmes in line with the council's Sport and Leisure Strategy.
Where you'll be working
Active Hampton, Tangley Park Road, Hampton TW12 3YH. The facility is currently in development to become a fully functioning local community sports centre. Facilities include a multi‑use sports hall, communal area, kitchen and external multi‑use games area. Opening hours will be extended to the public: weekdays 9am‑10pm; weekends 9am‑6pm.
What you’ll be doing
* Manage the active sport & fitness centre and coordinate with partners to enhance facilities and services.
* Develop and deliver a balanced adult and junior programme in line with the council’s strategy.
* Supervise staff—permanent and casual—through 1-2-1s, appraisals and meetings.
* Handle programming, finance, health & safety, marketing, quality assurance and facility development.
* Act as Duty Manager when required, supporting day‑to‑day operations.
What we need from you
* Hold a suitable sport, leisure, recreation or relevant management qualification and a current First Aid qualification.
* Significant previous experience in a leisure/fitness environment, ideally at management level.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Good working knowledge of operational management of a sports and fitness centre, health & safety procedures, and an understanding of diversity and equality in employment and service provision.
